The Build Subteam designs and builds the robot. Due to the rules of the game changing each year, this team is required to plan a different robot every year. The group also builds a prototype if time permits. Using all the tools at their disposal, they builds the most efficient and robust robot that they can. They are responsible for wiring the components in the robot, and all of the non-cosmetic hardware in/on the robot.
The Programming Subteam writes software that controls the robot in the tele-operational and autonomous phases of the competition. Every year the Programming team has to program the robot to follow the chosen strategy. The code is split up into multiple pieces and each member of the programming team writes one or more pieces in order to work efficiently. This team is responsible for all the software in the robot.
The robot is just one part of the picture: our Business & Media Subteam helps make our organization whole by writing grants, organizing our community outreach and involvement, working on our branding, and running our social media. Students on this team can take on a variety of roles based on their interests, all of which help to make our team more than just building robots.
